Growing Your Remote Workforce

Written by Uassist.ME Team | May 29, 2020 3:14:10 PM

You’ve now assembled your remote team, and they’re working well. Your company has come out of the COVID-19 batch they were in and it’s starting to thrive again.

You’ve liked the idea of remote work and you’d like to grow your team. One of the greatest advantages of having a remote workforce is that you are no longer limited to your physical area to determine how or who you hire.

If you have a US-based company and found a great designer who lives in Norway, or El Salvador, there’s nothing that impedes you from hiring that person.  The internet has just made everyone reachable, so that’s in your favor.

Also, ask yourself the question: What is the objective of hiring another person, what do I want them to accomplish? How am I going to measure success? After you’ve contemplated these questions, you can hire virtual staff from many different business process outsourcing companies out there, including Uassist.ME, but here’s a site where you can see many different virtual assistant company reviews so that you can pick the one you like the most!

Setting up a team

After knowing what skills you will be needing and identifying the different goals and objectives, you can assemble a team of assistants to take care of a specific part of your business.

Here at Uassist.ME, for example, we grow and assemble teams of three assistants, each with different skill sets. For example: an executive assistant, a graphic designer and a customer support assistant.

The executive assistant is the team captain and your point of contact and is in charge of distributing the work internally, as well as making sure all deadlines are met.

Cross-training between them allows them to know what’s going on at all times, and for a person to cover a team member in case one is absent.

A team of assistants of this sort works very well in industries such as: E-commerce, Real Estate, Media, Internet companies, Retail, and Healthcare among others.

Onboarding & Training

For the onboarding process to introduce a new team member, we recommend to make it as digital and as interactive as possible.

Include many video meetings, introduce team members and their roles in your company, address any questions they may have and make them feel welcomed!

Clearly state what you expect from them, train them in the tasks that they’ll be performing, give them access to the different communication and project management tools they will be using in your company and guide them on how to use them!

Remember: You’re training individuals today so that they will help you find solutions and represent your core company values tomorrow!

The best part of having a remote team is that you can grow according to your needs, it’s cost-effective since you’re not using up any office space, and it’s highly practical!
